One person comes to mind when I mention those two. Michael Jeffery Jordan.
One player is compared to Mike. The other couldn’t beat Mike. But both are mentioned with arguably the greatest to ever lace them up. But when you mention Lebron and Charles together, it’s usually for other reasons.
So when Barkley, who everyone knows is critical of everything, commented on Lebron’s request to management for ‘ a f*cking playmaker ‘ I’m sure no one seen Lebron’s response coming.
Look around Twitter or any other social media feed with a sports following and you’ll see others are as critical of Lebron’s request for a playmaker. ( I truly wonder what Kyrie ( Irving ) and Kevin ( Love ) was thinking as they watched ‘SportsCenter‘ when they arrived at home ).
Barkley being Barkley commented :
“Inappropriate. Whiny. All of the above,” Barkley said. “The Cleveland Cavaliers, they have given him everything he wanted. They have the highest payroll in NBA history. He wanted J.R. Smith last summer, they paid him. He wanted (Iman) Shumpert last summer. They brought in Kyle Korver.
“He’s the best player in the world. Does he want all of the good players? He don’t wanna compete? He is an amazing player. They’re the defending champs.”

I mean, I agree with Barkley. 110%. No questions. If Mike asked for help it wasn’t less then a year removed from a world championship and it surely wasn’t publicly. We all know Lebron is more of a GM then David Griffin is, but still the public battle with management was a little ‘high-schoolish‘ for lack of a better term.
Lebron tho, didn’t see what we seen. Hence he responded with this last night :
Oh did we. He continued :
I wasn’t the only one who thought it. Ask Yvie.
Skip Bayless from FS1‘s ‘Undisputed‘ said on Twitter :
I mean, I didn’t think Skip was a psychologist but let’s go with it.
On another note my guy and former New York Knicks forward Charles Oakley said this :
Guess that beef isn’t dying.
Rest of Twitter had this to say :
Nope. At least in my opinion.
I thought it was true. But I’m sure Barkley and former Lebron teammate Delonte West have a trump card.
But others defended Bron saying :
Ringless jokes never get old. Ask Patrick, Melo and Marino.
And finally … make sure you purchase the pay per view :
Not sure what comes from this. But I do know it’s entertaining on so many levels. TNT‘s monologue should be interesting Thursday night to say the least.
Hope you got your popcorn ready!
